The Gift Planning Academy (GPA) is a two-day, hands-on seminar for community and technical college professionals focusing on the essential components for a successful planned giving program. This training session provides guidance in all phases of successful gift planning designed to generate an endowment equal to 2 ½  times the college’s current operating budget. Successful gift planning programs require a long-term commitment by the college as well as:

  1. A worthy, highly-regarded institution
  2. The full commitment of the institution's administration
  3. A realistic budget, including a long-term flexible financing plan
  4. A qualified, well-trained director of gift planning
  5. A committed, trained, and influential foundation board
  6. A prospect research and training system
  7. A comprehensive plan of action
  8. Sound management/oversight of the process
  9. Patience (perhaps the most important of all!)
